We’re electricians based in Canterbury. You can find out what we’re up to and the kind of services we offer on this blog, or visit our main site for more information on us and what we do.
We are proud to display this!! This shows that our customers are more that happy to sing our praises for the work we have done for them and that we are consistently achieving our company goals……to provide top quality workmanship and the highest level of customer service at all times!!!! Thank you everyone!!
This picture shows some under cupboard lights in Canterbury; not much to see I know, but it does show that the LED Technology has finally produced a super low energy under cupboard light that looks amazing and does a great job. Give us a call and we can arrange for you to see a demo.
We were called to a house in Whitstable with the customer saying that she had a fault with the electric. After also discovering that the earth bonding and main earth in the property had been removed we found that the Gas pipe in the house had become live!!!! We went on the hunt and sniffer dog Rob found this. This picture shows a hole in the cable which had been created by a nail used to secure the floorboard down. Needless to say this was not a good installation.
We,ve been doing the first fix electrics in Herne Bay this week and this picture shows me looking through the joists from there first floor. Our customer has had a new extension to the front of the property and a new downstairs toilet, porch and first floor extended bedroom has been formed.
There is never a dull moment is there?! Here is Rob at his finest, just taking a moment to see if the new earrings will match his outfit for the weekend!! I just knew that all that sparkly stuff would tip him in the end!!
Here is the big switch on!! Not the Christmas lights, although that won’t be long now! But the Chandeleir showing off it’s 200 beads and all of our hard work!! I think we will be dreaming about all these sparkly bits for days!!!
We have been carrying out electrical work in Margate and here is the next stage of a Chandeleir installation where the 200th bead is being fitted!!
This week we have been installing Candeleirs in Margate. Here you can see 200 beads ready to be fitted to the light. Deep breath, here we go!!
We were called to an emergency in Canterbury last week with a new one on us…… We were told that a tree had come down right between a selection of Mercedes Benz without touching a single one!! How lucky was that??? Even more lucky was that one of their customers had a very lucky escape as they were looking at the cars at the time!!!! The problem was the tree had electric cables on it and our customer was worried. We attended as soon as we could and helped to remedy the situation.
We have been working on a new extension in Faversham and the customer has asked us to rewire the kitchen whilst we were there…. Now Rob being Rob got a funny feeling all was not as it should be; so off he goes sniffing out what was wrong. Here you see what he found in a short space of time!!! This has now resulted in a full rewire of the kitchen and a very happy customer who was more than pleased to see this kind of handy work removed from his home.
Rob’s even going under ground looking for the perfect way to install the job!!!!! Well done mate; just as well he’s not frightened of spiders a?????
We were called to an RCD fault in Whitstable and Rob’s off again……. Within a few minutes the route of the the problem is identified to a faulty immersion heater. You can see from the picture how bad things had got. We isolated the immersion heater and restored power to the house, gave a good friends from GAS SAFETY PLUS a call and they arrived to take care of the rest. Another happy customer…..
We have recently finished a rewire in Bridge, where our customer had a few reservations about whether or not the job would be done on time? We spent some time listening and explained that we always deliver on time and that she need not worry. Easy for us to say, we do this all the time and know just how long the process takes. We have learned from this experience that sometimes our customers would benefit from a more detailed explanation of the order of events and are more than happy to spend the time explaining it in greater detail if required. At the end of the week when all of the work was completed our customer bought us a box of chocolates to say ‘Thank you’ for all of our hard work and understanding. How nice of her to do that, even after a little wobble during the job!!
You may remember we went to a pond pump fault in Sittingbourne a year or two ago and we had some fun with ‘Where has Rob gone now’. Since then we have been asked to go back and remove the pond pumps we got working. Why….. well the customer has now sold his house and the new owners no longer want the ponds. Our existing customer has asked us to remove the pumps and relocate them at his new house. We hope that he can do such a great job setting up at the new place and once again we would like to say ‘Thank you’ to you, our loyal customers for including us in your lives, we very much appreciate the repeat custom and value your friendship.
We were asked recently to take a look at a fuse board change in Canterbury. The customer was a little unsure about the workmanship of the contractor who was asked to give advice, change the fuse board and update the accessories in the house. It didn’t take long to find things were not as they were supposed to be. We ended up rewiring the property; as the existing wiring was in need of replacement and this picture shows just some of the bad practice that had gone on. We also found that some of the replacement accessories had already shown signs of over heating and that the earth bonding had not been upgraded! Take a look at our checkatrade page to see what other people are saying about our work; this is an unbiased comments page on how we are doing. I’m sure you will agree that we are doing all the right things for you our customer. Feel free to give us a call to discuss your requirements.
We have recently carried out a rewire in Chartham and whilst we were carrying out our work we had a little help here and there!!!
After another fine British weather spell, we were confronted with this……. I thought it was another of Rob’s detours. Anyone who knows Rob will know he likes to go on a mystery tour now and again!! This time I thought he had surpassed himself and driven us into a river!!!
We have now completed the underfloor heating in Ottinge and here is the final stage complete! I know; you can’t feel the heat from the tiles but at least you can see the great work the tiler has done, and underneath, is our fantastic work!! Well, you have to blow your own trumpet now and again don’t you??
We were asked to carry out an electrical inspection on a property in Sittingbourne and after finding this, plus many more faults, the only way was to rewire the property! I won’t bore you with the details but there was no earth throughout the property to name but one major problem!!
We were rewiring a property in Sittingbourne when it all went dark and the Great British weather let us have it!!!!!!
We have been asked to fix, amongst other things, this outside light and switch for one of our existing customers in Sittingbourne, who have just purchased another property.
Whilst carrying out a rewire in Chestfield, we came across this nice little surprise!! This was supposed to be a fairly new installation carried out when the kitchen was replaced! This isn’t the type of thing you would expect to find hiding behind one of your kitchen cupboards is it??
This photo shows Rob preparing the floor boards in the bedroom, ready for the wiring to be routed around the house. The rewire in Westgate on sea was completed on time and the customer was very pleased with our work. We managed to do most of the job using the existing tubes that were installed when the house was built; this has meant that the customer has had very little repair work after we had finished.
Rob has had the great pleasure of sending me this photo!! It shows how he has been made to use a muscle car to get around Florida on his holiday!!
We have recently completed a new installation providing ‘kitchen electrics in Herne Bay’ for a customer just getting ready to have a new kitchen installed. The new kitchen electrics have to be chased into the walls and made good before the new units arrive.
We have been fortunate enough to be part of a new development in Herne Bay and this photo shows the first fix stage of the new build. We have already completed three other plots on this site with only two remaining. We have been involved right from the start of this project and have helped the architect with the electrical design to enable each plot to be finished to the high standards that a newly built property requires.
We have been working on a large installation over in Ottinge and we have just started the Underfloor Heating. Here you can see the first stage of setting out the heating mat, ready to be fixed down and tested.
We are now securing the underfloor heating mat to the floor, ready to carry out the continuity testing; this will ensure the heating mat is undamaged and ready to be covered over in floor screeding. The next stage is the floor tiles are installed, then we will return for our final visit, test the underfloor heating mat once more and verify the results with the previous data; once we have confirmed that the mat is suitable to be connected then it’s time to turn it on and let the customer enjoy lovely warm floor tiles for years to come.
We have been working on a 3 phase supply on a farm in Birchington and this photo shows that now and again we have to turn our hands to all sorts to get the job done!!
We have been working in Ottinge for a customer who has asked us to wire up the spar bath. We have also just completed a fuse board change and full test on the house as well as new wiring in the new extension and supplying and installing underfloor heating.
Here you can see Rob has made light work of getting the spar bath ready! Now….. what’s next?? Oh yes; time to start on the wiring to the ‘Velux’ windows and the underfloor heating.
We were called by a customer in Herne today, saying that the electric shower was not working properly. After a quick inspection, we found this!! A loose connection had almost caused a fire in the loft! You can see from the picture how bad it had got! We have now replaced the switch and repaired the damaged cable.
We were called to a property in Canterbury where the customer had been told that there was no earth present in the kitchen socket. He became concerned when it was pointed out that if there was a problem the metal decorative front plate may become live and he would be un aware until he got a shock from it! He called us in to take a look and after using our inspection camera to avoid too much disruption, we found the problem. We then had to make an inspection hole to see what was going on inside the wall. What we found was that whoever had attempted to make the alteration to the existing electrical system didn’t do the job very well and had left the property with what could well of been a very nasty situation for our customer. The picture shows the wrong type of crimp connector (too large for the earth cable and not crimped with the correct tool, as the cables were loose and came apart when inspected) and what it doesn’t show is that the connections were incorrect and this is how the socket came to have no earth! We have now rectified the situation and all is well.
We have now completed the electric gates for the customer in Herne Bay providing them with both security and convenience.
Merry Christmas to all of our customers! We would like to say a big thank you for choosing us for your electrical and security needs this year and we will be more than happy to help you or your friends in the New Year.
Best wishes
Chris and Rob
(We took the picture whilst we were working in Oxrord Street; London).
We are in the middle of partially rewiring a property in Canterbury and Rob has found a few minutes to find a new way of making sure his wrap doesn’t fall apart!!!
Another day in the life of an electrician!! We were invited to the ploughing match in Faversham by one of our best customers. The day was a complete success, the weather was hot and sunny and the event was fantastic! We recommend taking the kids to this one.
We were called to investigate a fault on a running track flood light in Canterbury. When we took a closer look we found this! I think this could well be the problem!
We have been working for a customer in Maidstone, providing outside sockets and a supply to garden office when Rob decides the only way to achieve the best results is to go down under!!
We have just completed a large fire alarm upgrade job for a customer in London and Rob decides to play!!
We were called to a faulty shower in Canterbury and found that the fuse board had almost caught fire!!! The cable that supplied the shower had over heated and burnt out inside the fuse box!! We did a full inspection and test of the house, replaced the faulty components and replaced the fuse board.
Whilst carrying out an inspection and test in Herne Bay we discovered this…. The shed wiring had been installed by a friend of the customer some time ago and had started to cause problems back at the house. If you are in any doubt, this is not a good install and could have proved to be very dangerous as there was no sign of an RCD and the customer was unaware how potentially serious this could of been. If you are unsure of your wiring, have any doubts about its condition or would just like us to put your mind at rest, then give us a call today and we will arrange to come round and give you our professional opinion.
We have just completed a full rewire for a customer in Beltinge Herne Bay. After looking at the existing electrics we gave the customer the news… the system had started to breakdown beyond the satisfactory levels for safety and that the only way forward would be to rewire the entire house. We use some of the latest dust extraction equipment and work tirelessly to ensure the house is still useable for our customers while the work goes ahead. The photo shows Rob just installing the fuse board, ready for the changeover day, where the job will be complete and the customer will have a newly rewired home, all done in a week.
Whilst installing low energy LED down lights for a customer in Maidstone, Rob discovered that it does give off just a little dust!
As promised, here is Rob on stage 2 of the electric gates install. We are now pulling in all the cables ready for the ground works and walls to be built. All the controls will be hidden out of sight. Keep watching to see the finished article!!
Can anyone find Rob?? We were called to a pond pump failure in Sittingbourne. The customer was very worried that his prize Koi carp would be in danger due to a fault on a uv filter that keeps the water clean for the fish. This is where Rob comes into his own as he is very good at fault finding, so he was in his element with this one. Shame we couldn’t find him afterwards!!!!!
We are just finishing a lighting project for a very high profile customer in Faversham, when Chris finds some time to flirt!!!!!
Here’s Rob on our first day of an installation of electric gates in Broomfield. The installation requires us to hide all cables and accessories for the gates. Keep watching to see how it all goes!!
Here’s a pic of Rob in the barn. We provided an electricity supply, and designed and installed the whole system. It contained a three phase commercial board (for those of you who wanted to know!). The brief from the customer was to be very discreet, not showing any cables or accessories (the switches and sockets). We used hessian sacks which were on site to cover the cables that were visible and we matched some of the cable using black and brown sprays. We also sourced black accessories. The end result was a very satisfied customer who even got us back for a few other jobs.
For a recent project we needed to wear full body protective suits as we were working in a rat infested house. Thankfully not something we usually have to do!
